We need someone to volunteer to coordinate our Caroling this year. It isn't complicated and only involves coordinating with the Hopkinton Housing Authority, setting up some hot chocolate and cookies for the scouts and families and seniors afterwards in the Community Room.
We could use some help distributing the wreaths on Saturday, November 23, 2013. Please sign up using this form
Pack 97 is welcoming new scouts for the upcoming year. If your son is entering first grade this September and you're interested in joining, contact our Membership Coordinator Renee Chen
On account of the rainy weather, we have arranged for the Pack 97 cookout to be next Friday the 21st at Hopkinton State Park. Please let your Den Leader know by next Wednesday at noon if your family will be attending (and if so, how many kids/adults) or not.
If you or anyone in your Den has any Tiger stuff they would like to pass on to new Tigers (handbook, hat, neckerchief, slide, etc,.) please bring it to the Committee meeting OR to the June Cookout. We will be collecting items to pass along to other scouts who are interested. We will also collect hats, slides, handbooks from other years as well and make them available to returning scouts.
Saturday, May 11, 10AM-4PM. Volunteers are needed to help with cleanup activities on the Center Trail. The plan is to focus on clearing drainage by removing last winter’s deposit of sticks, logs, and leaves so that the drainageway runs freely. Other activities may include clearing organic matter (leaves, debris) from the trail and brush clearing along the trail. Volunteers should enter from the Loop road, sign a town volunteer waiver, and then a drainage section will be assigned. Please bring gloves, rakes, water and shovels if you have them; there will be some extras. Hope to see you out there!
Spring is here and it is time to register scouts who will be returning next year.
Each Den Leader has a packet containing renewal forms for the scout parents of your den. Each returning scout will need to complete a pink medical form, orange vehicle information/ photo consent form, and include a check for $45 made payable to Cub Scout Pack 97.
Please encourage your scouts to get the forms and checks back to you by May 15th so we can start the registration process.
Thanks again for all your support in this effort to keep Pack 97 going strong!
For those interested in Ice Fishing this year, the Woodville Rod & Gun Club will be sponsoring a Kids Ice Fishing Derby on the same day as our Pinewood Derby, Sat., 2/2. The Ice Fishing will begin at 11:00 am (towards the end of our Pinewood Derby) and will last until 2:30 pm. We will not be sponsoring this as an official Pack event this year, since most of our resources are going into the Pinewood Derby, but you are more than welcome to attend with friends and family. This event is free, but you MUST pre-register. The following link contains information and forms required. http://www.woodvillerodandgun.com/Kids%20Ice%20Event%202013.pdf
