September Kick Off & Crossover Ceremony

Although our campout cannot happen this year due to the mosquitoes, we still have a great afternoon planned to kick off the year at Split Rock Area in Hopkinton State Park this coming Saturday afternoon from 2pm until 6pm! This event is of course for scouts and their families. Siblings are welcome. This will be a chance to have some fun, earn some belt loops (which will be distributed by the Den leaders after the event), welcome our new tigers and crossover to our next ranks.

In order to be mindful of the instructions related to mosquitoes, we will make absolutely sure we are finished and heading home by 6:00PM.

2:00pm - 2:30pm    1st beltloop rotations (Volleyball, Kickball, Flag Football, Ultimate, Music)
2:30pm - 3:00pm    2nd beltloop rotations  
3:00pm - 3:30pm    3rd beltloop rotations
3:30pm - 3:50pm    Tug of War
3:50pm - 4:20pm    Gathering and snacks
4:20pm - 4:40pm    Opening Ceremony - pledge of allegiance, bring in Pack flag, welcome to Pack
4:40pm - 5:40pm    Campfire and "Our Flag" Crossover Ceremony
5:40pm - 6:00pm    Flag retirement ceremony

We need volunteers to run the stations. Please reply to George Gaughan if you can help with one or more of the slots above. No specific knowledge is needed to volunteer. Please RSVP with a count of adults and kids to your Den Leaders by this Thursday, September 20th. Your Den Leaders will be sending in counts for us to be able to get the snacks purchased on Friday. Please make sure all scouts have their Class A uniforms for the events starting at 3:50pm. Class B or “play clothes” are acceptable ahead of this.

Den Responsibilities

All Dens Set up
  • Set out trash barrel.
  • Put up any necessary sign ins, posters.
  • Help set up any equipment, set up info table, etc.
 1:30pm - 2:00pm
Dens 6 and 9 Flag Bearers (Enter)
  • Assemble flags.
  • Den Leader will call orders.
  • Scouts bring flags in, 
  • Lead Pledge of Allegiance, 
  • Sing song.
 4:20pm - 4:40pm
    All Dens Clean up
    • Take out trash.
    • Check bathrooms to ensure they are clean, flushed, no trash.
    • Ensure site is in excellent shape before leaving.
