Lost in the Woods is an informative program for young students (grades 1 - 5) that focuses on what to do if lost in the woods. The content highlights nine simple tips to help a child if they are separated from their family, group or friends while camping, hiking or recreating in a woodlands area. This program was developed by British Colombia Search and Rescue and is based on materials from the book Lost in the Woods by Colleen Politano.
The Scouts will learn basic skills of staying warm, staying dry and making sure that they can be found whether lost for a few hours or a few days. Not only do the boys find this to be an entertaining and educational experience, but many parents who attend this training have often noted that they also learned something from the program as well.
This event is free and lunch (Pizza and water) will be provided. At the end of the program each Cub Scout will be presented with this own survival kit. We look forward to seeing your there!
All Tiger scouts should attend, as well as any new scouts to the Pack, or those who have missed this program in the past. A parent of each scout is required to stay during this event. Siblings are welcome, but please bring something for them to do so they are not running around the church.
Please RSVP to Kim Brennan.
